Hi! my topic is all about a street food vendor near the University of Nueva Caceres named Mrs. Rosa Hernandez. Their business is owned and operated by their family but benefits from their trade extend throughout the local economy. In spite of the many problems they face every day, they manage to showcase the ingenuity that Filipinos are so famous for through the products they peddle, and the way they interact with the world around them, they never think twice about smiling and putting on a generally positive outlook. Their unique trait even made us one of the happiest people on the planet.

Once there was a dedicated mother named Rosa Hernandez she has 3 children named Aliah, Lester, and Andrei and her husband named Edmundo who lives at 46 Santa Cruz St. Naga City. As I interviewed her she showed me a quote that she used as her motivation “When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too.”  Manang Rosa told me a story about how their relationship started with street foods and Manang Rosa told me that told me don’t let anything hinder or stop what is my passion or from what I love.

With the crowds that Manang Rosa attracts, it could be easy to be a little impatient at times. But the one thing that regular customers love about Manang Rosa, apart from the delectable street foods she makes out of her food cart at one corner of the sidewalk near the University of Nueva Caceres, is her constant smile and polite demeanor even when she is answering irritated customers.

Even though their family is going through a lot of problems they can still show others their genuine smiles and we can see that they have that passion in their jobs even though we call it “blue-collar jobs”, We can see that they are enjoying it because they work as a family. She also told me that sometimes their problem is when they have an inadequate situation like a shortage of budget and having an argument with her husband when he is drunk, she explained to me how she handles those kinds of situation and she advised me that no matter what happens if I really love something or if I gave up on my dreams, I might not be happy and often complain about my life and my environment. Manang Rosa happily shared a story about their love life with Mr. Edmundo Hernandez, She told me that it all started at Plaza Quince Martires since it was a place for street food, as the time goes by their relationship got stronger and they can understand each other’s situation and they finally got married last October 27, 2015. The times go by they’re becoming much more faithful to each other and they can still enjoy simple things and they’re still enjoying their lives from what they have and they’re pretty much content from what they have and they told me that any blessing that may be given to them will be just a bonus and they’ll just pray and give thanks to God for it.
